Industrial Advisory Council
As part of its commitment to strengthening effective partnership between the academic institution and relevant professional sectors, the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology has established an Industrial Advisory Council comprising a select group of experienced engineers representing various engineering institutions and departments in Nineveh Governorate, alongside selected faculty members from the department. This council serves as a strategic platform concerned with guiding the academic programs of the department’s two branches — Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Renewable Energy — toward alignment with labor market requirements, by providing specialized advice and reviewing educational objectives, student learning outcomes, and graduate attributes in accordance with best practices and national and international standards.
The council holds regular periodic meetings — at least once every academic semester — to review and evaluate the study programs of both branches, analyze feedback from the labor market, and provide developmental recommendations regarding curriculum updates and their alignment with the evolving technical needs of the refrigeration and air conditioning and renewable energy sectors. The council also works to support the professional capacity-building of students by proposing applied activities such as workshops, technical seminars, and industry outreach programs, contributing to the development of graduates’ practical skills and enhancing their readiness for the labor market.
The Industrial Advisory Council represents one of the key tools in the department’s academic quality assurance system, as it contributes to assessing the extent to which the educational objectives of both branches’ programs are achieved, strengthens continuous improvement efforts, and helps build effective bridges of cooperation between the college and the industrial and mechanical engineering sectors.
