Department History

The department was established in the 2022-2023 academic year as the first engineering department specializing in chemical and petroleum engineering in the northern region. The department admitted 35 students in its first year, a select group of high-achieving students with averages ranging from 75% to 95% in the scientific and applied secondary school tracks.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, evening studies were also introduced, and the department admitted over 50 students with averages ranging from 85% to 98%.

The number of students admitted to the morning program in the 2023-2024 academic year was 111.
