In line with its commitment to fostering an effective partnership between academic institutions and relevant professional sectors, the Department of Building & Construction Engineering Technology has established an Industrial Advisory Council. This council comprises a select group of experienced engineers representing various engineering institutions and directorates in Nineveh Governorate, alongside selected faculty members from the department. The council serves as a strategic platform dedicated to aligning academic programs with labor market requirements by providing specialized consultation and reviewing educational objectives, student learning outcomes, and graduate outcomes in accordance with best national and international standards and practices.

The council holds regular periodic meetings—at least once per semester—to review and evaluate curriculum programs, analyze feedback from the labor market, and provide developmental recommendations regarding curriculum updates to match the evolving technical needs in the building and construction sector. Furthermore, the council actively supports the professional capacity-building of students by proposing practical activities, such as workshops, technical seminars, and industrial engagement programs, thereby contributing to the development of graduates’ practical skills and enhancing their readiness for the job market.

The Industrial Advisory Council represents one of the primary instruments within the department’s academic quality assurance system. It contributes to evaluating the attainment of the program’s educational objectives, promotes continuous improvement efforts, and fosters effective bridges of cooperation between the college and the industrial and engineering sectors.
