Department History

The Department of Electrical Power Engineering Technologies was established in 1996. Subsequently, its name was changed to the Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies starting from the academic year 2023–2024. This transition was aligned with labor market requirements and the rapid advancements in electrical engineering fields, as well as to unify the nomenclature with corresponding departments across the other three technical engineering colleges.

The department is dedicated to preparing distinguished scientific and engineering cadres equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in electrical engineering disciplines, effectively meeting the demands of the labor market in industrial and service institutions. Furthermore, the department is committed to advancing the educational process and fostering rigorous scientific research to keep pace with modern scientific and technological developments, serve the community, and support sustainable development.

The department also offers advanced postgraduate programs in Electrical Engineering Technologies, which include:

1.     Higher Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Established in 2021)

2.     Technical Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Unsuspended in 2019 )

3.     Technical Ph.D. (Doctorate) in Electrical Engineering (Established in 2025)

 

The postgraduate programs aim to qualify researchers and specialists capable of contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and conducting sophisticated applied research. This enhances the department’s academic standing at both regional and international levels, while actively serving society and meeting the criteria of sustainable development goals.
