Brief Overview of the Department of Medical Devices Engineering Technologies

The Department of Medical Devices Engineering Technologies was established in 1994, and its first cohort of students graduated in the 1997–1998 academic year.

The department offers a comprehensive academic program that combines theoretical and practical education. Students complete a total of 65 theoretical credit hours and 90 practical credit hours over four academic years. The curriculum is based on the Bologna Process for first-year students and the course-based system for the remaining academic levels.

In addition, students are required to complete eight weeks of summer training during the summer break after the second and third academic years, enabling them to gain practical experience and strengthen their professional skills.

Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Medical Devices Engineering Technologies. They are eligible for membership in the Iraqi Engineers Association and enjoy the same professional rights and privileges as graduates of other engineering disciplines from engineering colleges across Iraqi universities.
